Software

Use the supplied AUDIT-MATE 2.0 program to configure, download and read AUDIT-BUDDY data. The AUDIT-BUDDY Generation 1 uses direct downloads via the USB port. Use a USB stick or USB for configuration and data download.

Is AUDIT-BUDDY a Data Logger?

AUDIT-BUDDY records temperature and humidity data, but our stand construction and software are more advanced. While data loggers are individual sensors that need to be attached to physical device, the AUDIT-BUDDY is a freestanding monitoring tool, measuring at multiple heights. Our software takes turns collected data into meaningful information so you don’t have to waste time on the data post-processing.

I already have permanent monitoring (BMS/DCIM/Wireless sensors) do I still need an AUDIT-BUDDY?

Many of our customers have permanent monitoring systems. AUDIT-BUDDY™ is great for gaps in coverage. Whether it’s measuring the exhaust temps or double checking permanent sensors, AUDIT-BUDDY™ is aimed at transient monitoring applications.

What is the sensing radius?

Place AUDIT-BUDDY™ as close as an inch away from the server rack using the carbon fiber rod or fix it directly to the surface using the magnetic plate. Purkay Labs recommends placing one TH1 Module near the floor, one TH1 Module close to the top of the rack and one TH1 Module in the middle of the cabinet to get a detailed stratification of the cabinet.

How long is the battery life?

AUDIT-BUDDY™ uses standard alkaline AA batteries for operation. Under normal operating conditions, used once or twice a week, the batteries will last for at least 6 months. A low battery warning is displayed before the user starts a data collection. The user can also test the module’s current battery condition at any time. The scanned data is stored in Non-Volatile Memory and is not dependent on battery voltage, and therefore is not lost when the batteries are removed to be replaced.

Does AUDIT-BUDDY measure airflow?

No. AUDIT-BUDDY™ does not measure airflow. However, our software programs - AUDIT-MATE 2.0 - utilize the temperature data to calculate airflow inefficiencies, such as bypass and recirculation, as well as the required CFM necessary to effectively cool an aisle or room.

Can I integrate AUDIT-BUDDY information into my Building Management System?

All collected data from Purkay Labs Software and Macros support data export in .CSV and .PNG formats. Specific integration to a building automation system will require a custom wrapper to be written. This will vary from site to site based on the specific requirements. Please contact Purkay Labs for more information.
